Story of Neel

After Yudhishthir's Rajasuya yagna, Nakul and Sahadev advanced towards the South to conquer more territory and gain allies. It was here that they fought the mighty King Neel in a war. He had a boon from the God of Fire - Agni Devta that fire would consume any army that marches on the Mahishmati kingdom. After losing many soldiers, Sahadev decided to offer King Neel a homage. Neel accepted it and agreed to pay tribute to their kingdom. He fought alongside the Pandavs in the Kurukshetr war. He was killed by Ashwathama on the 12th day of the war
