Story of Chitrasen Gandharv

Chitrasen is a Gandharv king, a celestial being known for his musical prowess. Indra, the king of gods, arranged for Arjun to be trained by Chitrasen in music and dance.

During the exile, the Pandavs were staying at Dvaitvan. Duryodhan and his brothers went to Dvaitvan to further humiliate the Pandavs. Tha Gandharvs understood the motive of the Kauravs. Since they owned adjoining the Dvait Lake, the Gandharvs did not allow the Kaurav brothers to set up camp. The ensuing altercation led to a battle. The Kaurav brothers were defeated by the Gandharv army headed by Chitrasen and and taken hostage. The 4 Pandavs (Arjun, Bheem, Nakul and Sahadev) defeated the Gandharvs and freed their cousins.
